A final week of runs just in time for Finals! 12/3-12/7

Greetings Runners,

Here’s to the start of RRR week – may your studying go smoothly, and
your finals find you well! In short, we’re going to mix it up a bit in
this final week of runs and offer a variety of officer-led runs at
different times. If none of those times work for you, you’re still
welcome to meet at the fountain at our regular time of 5pm, but there
isn’t anything officially scheduled for that time, so you would end up
going on an “unofficial” run of your own devising, based on who shows
up! Same deal for Finals week – no official runs planned, but feel free
to pop by the fountain at 5pm if you’re free, or collaborate with other
runners via the Facebook page to find times that work amidst the chaos
of studying.

Want to take a break from studying (besides by going on a run, that is)?
We’re having a casual potluck affair on Wednesday at 6pm, to celebrate
the end of the semester. Expect food and games! RSVP to
calrunningclub@gmail.com and/or sign up via the event on our CRC
Facebook page for the address.

Finally, a big thanks to all of you who came out and ran with us this
semester – join us again this spring at the fountain for another round
of runs, feasting, races, and mayhem!

Happy Running,

–Kathleen

[running club] Run Schedule for 10/22 – 11/3

Hello Runners,

A big thanks to all of you who came out to our Halloween House-to-House
party! There were some pretty creative costumes and pumpkin-carving to be
had all around. Still want a chance to join in the seasonal festivities?
We’ll be meeting at our regularly-scheduled time of 5:30pm and doing a
costumed run down College to Zachary’s Pizza on the day of Halloween.
Start brainstorming costumes that are comfortable to run in, and show up
to the fountain in your spookiest attire!

NOTE: These last few weeks leading up to November 4th (and the Daylight
Savings switch!) mark the final days this semester when we’ll be meeting
at 5:30pm for our weekday runs. Following the time change, we’ll begin
meeting for weekday runs at 5:00pm. (Saturday morning runs will continue
to take place at 9am.) Be sure to reset your clocks, and start
integrating lighter clothing into your workout wardrobe – as a safe

-*11/10: Journey To The End of the Night! – Join us for another epic urban

-*Daylight Savings Time is swiftly approaching in three weeks’ time, which
means darker evenings during our runs. For your safety, we encourage you
to wear lighter clothing to enhance your visibility. That being said, why
not invest in an official Cal Running Club t-shirt? $10 a shirt, printed
on fair-trade cotton with our awesome logo (which can be seen here:

Greetings Runners,

Hopefully the semester (and the start of midterm season!) is treating
you well. In case you didn’t know, running is an excellent way to help
manage the stress that often accompanies this time of year. Feeling burned
out? Join us for a run at the Fountain, and watch the tension crumble away

from running to get pizza at Zachary’s. Also, mark your calendars for two
Saturdays from now (October 20th!), and join us for a very special event:
a Halloween-themed house-to-house party involving food, pumpkin-carving,
and fun. See the entry under “Fun&Mayhem” for more details.
